Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone. I hope everyone is have a wonderful day no matter what you are celebrating right now. Me, I just finished "playing" with some of my new "toys" like the remmington curling wand, Itunes gift card, a bunch of new clothes and makeup. Now I'm getting ready to watch A Muppet's Christmas Carol aka my FAVORITE Christmas movie and eat some yummy food!!
I just thought I'd post a bunch of Christmasy pictured so far, some I've used before I know. But i just love them so much! Some pictures are of my travels going back to my parents, the Christmas tree, presents I wrapped, gingerbread house I made, and just because I love the flowers so much I put them on here again as well as my advent calender app and a couple Christmasy things from the new game I am addicted to on my Iphone, Tiny Tower! (It's free you should check it out)

DIY: ombre hair

Okay, so how do you ombre hair? Well good question.
I will take you step by step on how to ombre hair.
(you can also do this to dark/brown hair I did this to my hair.
you can see it in a couple of my pictures i have of myself in earlier posts)

  • get the products. you will need a bleaching kit, brush, tub/shower head, blow dryer, towels and shirt that you don't care get's dye on it. (i got this bleaching kit at target-$10)

  •  brush hair then follow directions for hair bleaching kit
  • part hair in center and split hair in two sections.
  • put on gloves and put dye on hair up to were you want the gradation to start.
  • put both sections of hair together and blend hair dye all through out were you want the gradation.  The arrow represents were I put the hair dye up to on my sister's hair.  (she already had am ombre hair which it why it looks so light on the bottom.)
  •  leave in for about 20-25 min
  • wash out dye using shampoo and towel dry then if necessary to speed up the process blow dry hair on cool.

  •  after hair is all dry.  put gloves back on and put dye  down further on the hair. this is where the hair will be the lightest. The arrow represents where I put the dye second time on my sisters hair.
  • now you can add any extra dye in your hair where you want it to be lighter. My sister asked if I could put some in her hair around her face and in her bangs. basically to frame her face better.
  • remember when putting the dye in your hair it doesn't have to be perfect. I actually suggest not trying to make it look perfect because it looks better with out putting as much effort into it. more natural.
  • leave in for about 25-30 minutes.
  • wash out with shampoo and the conditioner they put in the bleaching kit.
  • lastly, blow dry hair and style the way you want it. I've noticed that you can see the ombre in the hair better with straight hair rather than curly.

I know the one on the left isn't a great picture but it is one on her before the ombre,
and the one on the right is after the ombre.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Goodnight!

So to get into more of the holiday spirit I thought I would post some Christmasy things.
Yepper-doodle I celebrate Christmas.

The first picture is of the Christmas tree in my parents house. Sadly this year we can't put on a lot of ornaments because out new kitten keeps climbing up the tree, and we can't have all the ornaments falling when were not home. But I still believe it looks pretty nice.
The second picture is of my stocking at the fireplace, along with the rest of my families following behind it. Yepp first born gets you first stocking in my household. And I just love the classic plain red velvet stocking. :)
Lastly I am posting my absolute favorite Christmas song. Baby, It's Cold Outside-Bing Crosby & Doris Day. That and the one from the movie Elf soundtrack are my favorite versions. This has always been one of my favorites. Two of my other favorite Christmas songs is Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time-Paul McCartney and Last Christmas-Wham!
What are some of your favorite holiday traditions and music?

Holiday Comfort Casual

Holiday Casual

Soo, you might not want to "dress up" fully this holiday season. You might want to be more comfortable. Here are some ways you can be more comfortable but still stylish and look nice at the parties and get togethers.
Normally, I know when I want to be comfortable I always turn to some sort of pants. I don't like having to deal with dresses. Also I normally don't wear heels when I am thinking about comfort first.
The outfit on left is a nice warm red sweater with the little detailing at the neck with a pair of shorts that everyone probably has for their summer set of clothes, just add tights and they are ready for the winter seasons. This is also nice to pair with a texture of patterned pair of flats like these leopard flats.
The middle outfit would also work wonderfully in a work setting, add a nice blazer and it would be perfect. This is a very festive outfit with the green top. The embellishment of the gold toe of the flats adds a nice touch.
My personal favorite outfit is the one on the right. I love the gold top matched with the nice dark pair of jeans. I also am in love with the red flats and the cute gold heart lock and key on the toes. The red layerd necklace adds an extra touch to the outfit to make it perfect for any holiday get together.

Holiday Dresses

Holiday Dresses

Here are just a bunch of different style of dresses/outfits, I made on Polyvore, to get ideas for different styles to wear for the upcoming holidays.
The red dress on the left is for a more cutesy, preppy type of girl. I could easy see Zooey Deschanel wearing something of this sort. It definatly gives of a more fun and cute feel due to the flowing fabric and the big red bow. Adding a mustard colored wedge heel really pops and adds more fun bright colors to the outfit.
The middle dress, I would describe, as a more urban/city style. The green top half of it contrasted with the charcoal gray bottom penciled in like that gives it a more sexier, sleeker look. Because the dress doesn't have any patterns in it I added some pattern and texture in it with the accessories. The choppy gold necklace, and the chain gold belt along with the gold and black pattern heel really helps with that.
Lastly the outfit on the right is a very classic, vintage look. The top half of the dress has the black lace which makes the vintage feel, as well at the color of the bottom half of the skirt. The belt that comes with the dress really makes an even more girly aspect. No accessory screams vintage more to me than long layered pearls, so that's exactly what I added. Then the dark maroonish louboutins just complete the vintage feel of the outfit.
I hope this helped you with figuring out what to wear to your parties for the holidays.

Home is wherever I’m with you

Scarf: Flea market in Paris
Shirt: H&M
Undershirt: Pac Sun
Cardigan: Salvation Army
Leggings: Forever 21
Boots: Footsies
Nail Polish: Vernis A Angles, Sally Hansen x-treme wear

So all I did today was go shopping, and let me tell you people out there are crazy! Not only were people driving like they were all trying to get to the hospital but everyone was rushing around all the stores. About five people cut inline in front of me. Truly crazy.
But anyways, since I was only going to be shopping and I'm going to be visiting my old gym where I used to do gymnastics at later tonight I figured I should be comfortable, and this is a very comfortable and warm outfit.
Hope everyone has a great day and fun finishing up their Christmas shopping!

P.S: Only 6 days till Christmas!

"Alabama, Arkansas, I do love my Ma & Pa, not the way that I do love you.
Holy Moley, Me-oh-My, you're the apple of my eye. Girl, I’ve never loved one like you
Man, oh man, you’re my best friend,  I scream it to the nothingness. There ain’t nothin’ that I need.
Well, hot & heavy, pumpkin pie, chocolate candy, Jesus Christ.
There ain’t nothin’ please me more than you. Home. Let me come Home
Home is wherever I’m with you."

Pumped Up Kicks

So just the other day I was looking around at H&M and noticed everything was on sale! I eventually found these shoes which were 50% off! I wouldn't think that normally I would like these type of shoes, but I actually really love them. I've noticed them gradually becoming more and more popular and I've always liked them on other people but not necessarily me, until now. They are both warm, comfy, and great for winter. Even though they are heels they have great traction on the bottom. I haven't been able to test them out yet in any bad weather, but so far they seem very good.
Just thought I'd share one of my fashion finds recently. Have a great day everyone.

Having A Coke With You

Today I decided to post an Outfit of the Day.

Black Scarf-Macy's
Floral Dress-H&M
Leggings-Forever 21
Blue Cardigan-Salvation Army
Black Boots-Footsies
Necklace-Forever 21
Nail Polish-Milani

I went for comfort today becauseeee TODAY WAS MY LAST FINAL!! It was for Fashion Sketch, I got an A. Pretty well done. I think it's because before my professor graded my collection I painted his pinky finger nails. Yeah only his pinkys, cause he didn't want to look "like a total gay creep" as he put it hahahh! He is just too funny.
I'm really excited for next quarter and taking my portfolio prep class because I will be making my own mini collection. I can't wait to get started on it!
So all I'm doing for the rest of the day is relaxing the rest of the night. I plan on sitting back with a drink, bubble bath, do my laundry, pack, dance a little around my apartment, then get some sleep since I have to wake up early to catch the train to go to my parents house for the holiday.

"it is hard to believe when I’m with you that there can be anything as still
as solemn as unpleasantly definitive as statuary when right in front of it
in the warm New York 4 o’clock light we are drifting back and forth
between each other like a tree breathing through its spectacles"

Christmas Wish List

This is my Christmas wish list. Just a couple of things that I finally thought of that I would like for Christmas. Hah, I might be a little late.

I tried this on in Sephora a little bit ago and LOVED it.
It has a great smell and it moisturizes your lips just like capstick.

I've wanted a ring that I can wear everyday ever since my dad got my mom this gorgeous tanzanite ring while on our cruise. Finally I found my own blue gemstone ring that I just am in love with. and The scalloped border adds that vintage feel that I love.

I normally always get Viva La Juicy and/or Burberry Britt Purfume.
But I have recently fallen in love with this sent and want it!

I love this bag. I've wanted another Michael Kors bag for awhile but I saw this one on the website the other day and thought I would change my mind to thing bag. I can be so indecisive sometimes.

Alrighty well that is basically it. Let me know what's on your Christmas wish list, give me someone ideas lol. Have a good night!
